Cameo training questions
Do I need a Cameo license?
No. Every student gets a login to our cloud virtual machine, where CATIA Magic / Cameo is installed and licensed. All the labs are done there.
Is Cameo the same as CATIA Magic or MagicDraw?
Yes. MagicDraw, Cameo Systems Modeler, Cameo Enterprise Architecture and CATIA Magic are all rebranded names for the same base software. Dassault Systèmes now sells it under the CATIA Magic name. The tool and the modeling are the same, and we teach in it.
Which Cameo version do you teach in?
SysML v1 classes use Cameo Systems Modeler 2024x, the version most of industry runs today. SysML v2 classes use 2026x, which adds SysML v2. Recent Cameo versions are nearly identical, with the buttons in the same places, so what you learn carries straight over if your job runs 2022x or 2026x.
Is this official Dassault Systèmes training?
No. We are an independent training and consulting company. We are not a general training company with a catalog of unrelated courses. We focus only on MBSE tools and how they are applied in practice, and we teach SysML and the modeling method in the tool, the way engineers use it on programs.
What if I fall behind in a lab?
Every lab ends with a checkpoint model, the finished version of that lab. Compare it with yours to see what you missed, or load it and carry on with the class. The checkpoint for one lab is the starting point for the next.
Do I need to know SysML first?
No. Fundamentals starts from the foundations. Advanced Topics assumes Fundamentals or equivalent experience.
Can you train our team privately?
Yes. Remote or at your site, on your dates, with examples tuned to your domain on request. Groups of 8 or more get a group discount.
What do I need on the day?
A laptop, a mouse and headphones. We send login details and run a test window before class starts.
