4 Logical & Physical Modeling Methods in SysML
$5.99
This .mdzip sample project file provides 4 separate logical to physical architectures as shown in the YouTube video. This sample was built within Catia Magic 2024x and should be compatible with other versions of Cameo and MagicDraw.
Description
Description
Do you need a logical decomposition at all, and should logical and physical live on the same block or on separate ones? This model builds four answers, with pros and cons, and tests each against the same three cases.
What’s in the project file
- The three test cases every option has to handle: a one-to-one map, a harness split and a pass-through
- Option A: turn the logical design into the physical one, keeping no logical decomposition
- Option B: one block for both, with cables as parts mounted to the connectors and a table that traces each port, connector and cable
- Option C: one block, with separate logical and physical proxy ports marked by stereotypes and colored by a legend, refine relationships between them, and ICD tables you can filter by logical or physical
- Option D: separate logical and physical decompositions joined by a mapping block and IBD, with refine and mount relationships; the most scalable, and our preferred option
Who it’s for
Teams deciding how their model will connect logical design to physical hardware, cables and harnesses.
