Tool Classes In The Digital Engineering Environment

There are several different types of digital tools throughout the system lifecycle which would be helpful to pass data between via digital thread.  This page will explore the different tool types, explain what type of person typically uses that toolset, and provide some examples of specific softwares.

SysML Tools

These are softwares used by primarily systems engineers.  This toolset is the main focus of this website.  This includes softwares which can run the Language SysML.  Read more about the different alternatives here: What are Cameo's Competitors?

Computer Aided Design (CAD) Tools

CAD is mainly used by Mechanical Engineers for detailed engineering of 3D models or 2D drawings of physical components, but it is also used throughout the engineering process from conceptual design and layout of products, through strength and dynamic analysis of assemblies to definition of manufacturing methods of components.

Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) Tools

ALM tools essentially function as project management tools that help you bring people and processes together.
